Brzeg SA tannery, once Poland’s leading tannery, will soon change its production profile. Part of its premises and equipment has been sold and part is on a lease agreement with its sister tannery Skotan in Skoczów.

Both tanneries belong to the Karkosik family and are listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange. Available space at the tannery will now be used for the recycling of plastics, for which machines from Kohler Frank Auktionshaus in Soltau (Germany) have already been purchased.

The management of Brzeg SA cited poor sales of leather and strong competition of Chinese footwear as reasons for this move.
