Albert Colmer, former Ulster Unionist chairman of Down Council, has called for a greater emphasis to be placed on job creation in the district.

In the wake of the announcement of the closure of a leather tannery and a number of textile factory closures at Shrigley Mr Colmer said it is important that manufacturing jobs are replaced in the Down area.
