Vietnam’s Hao Duong tanning plant in the Hiep Phuoc Industrial Zone has begun trials after installing a new production line. The new line, which has taken a year to install, is expected to reduce tanning time for hides from 30 days to a staggering 48 hours, whilst reducing environmental damage.

The 240-billion VND ($15.2 million) plant is designed to produce 40 tonnes of leather on a daily basis, and is due to be fully operational by October.
