The world famous, quintessentially English, department store Harrod's has set its sights on France in the hope of  wooing English riders with saddles designed by a French designer..The "Pierre Guibert Paris Corner" is set to open on August 20.

The decision to open the boutique followed a chance encounter between Pierre Guibert and an associate of the store’s owner, Mohammed al-Fayed. It will be situated in the sports’ department and will sell saddles, crops, bridles and other leather accessories used in equestrian sports.

Guibert has recently collaborated with Chanel for the presentation of a collection. "I was very proud to learn that Harrod's truly wanted to work with me," Guibert said.
