Citing an estimate by the Egyptian tanning association, the Italian tanning machinery manufacturer’s association Assomac says tanneries moving to the new Cairo leather processing zone next year will need to replace 60% of their systems. 

In the light of this, Assomac says, industry suppliers may wish to consider its ‘Cairo International Leather Show’ (December 9-12) as a showcase for their products.

To be constructed near Badr City, the zone will provide a new home for Cairo’s existing leather industry and benefit an advanced environmental and technical facilities designed by Assomac Servizi Srl, the service arm of the trade association. Local footwear and leather goods producers are also being invited to take part in the show.
