Bologna’s Fashion Shoe and Leather Goods points to market upturn
The eighth edition of Fashion Shoe and Leather Goods was held for the first time at the functional and sizeable
The show, organised by BolognaFiere SpA in cooperation with ANCI, attracted 3,900 professionals, 700 of whom came from abroad. Eastern Europe, with a distinct Russian dominance, showed a usually high interest in Italian products, whilst the level of interest among traditional European markets such as France, Spain, the UK and Germany seems to have risen as well.
The show attracted many international buyers and concluded in numerous new commercial contacts, showing signs of recovery in the European footwear sector that has suffered severely from the emergence of new competitors over the last few years.
The event is designed to deliver updates of the current season’s collections and is proving particularly popular among producers and distributors oriented towards short and extremely short-term order management, a growing practice in today’s market conditions.
