Le Cuir a Paris – Winter 2005/06
The next edition of Le Cuir a Paris will be held on 13 – 15 September ‘04 in hall six of the Paris Expo-Porte de Versailles. The Autumn/Winter 2005/06 trends will be presented in the Trends Gallery (avant première).
The gallery will show the most creative samples of the exhibitors’ collections. The fashion presentations will cover all leather sectors including ready-to-wear, interior decoration, furnishings, footwear, leather goods, gloves and other accessories. As in the previous edition, Le Cuir a Paris has picked out one colour mood, colours of stone, under the name of City Walls. There will be four fashion themes: Non conformiste, Divine, Bizarre and Electric Gaucho.
With materials and creativity of the stylists becoming increasingly more transversal, the Trends Gallery will have an area called A Tale of Diversion (Décalage), aimed at bringing the visitor’s attention to the possibility of diverting materials to furnishings. Following the success of last April’s guided visit of the Trends Gallery, it will now take place twice on the first day of the fair at 11am and 3pm, organiser SIC (Societé Internationale du Cuir) says.
The September edition will have the Tailor-Made Area, a new space dedicated to craftsmen, creators of exceptional materials and designers. It will present rare products including made-to-measure, new developments and the unique know-how of exhibitors.
Conscious of the importance of promoting the young talents the organisers and various tanners have sponsored the exhibition Leather and Fur. The demonstrated garments have been designed and produced by the stylists of the Belgian school La Cambre – Mode.
The Designers Area will also put on show the armchairs and vases in carved leather by Marion Courtillé (France), the puffs in canvas and leather of Ana Maia (Brazil), the fantasy exotic jewellery of Rosa Piatti (Brazil) and the casual-sportswear line of Mars Rijke (The Netherlands).
The Water Agency Adour-Garonne will host an exhibition on the theme of water and leather. The visitors will also be able to admire the Chrysler Crossfire all-leather interior exhibited by the car concessionary LBA Cergy.
On the not to be missed list are the hand-painted leathers by visual arts professionals whose paintings and designs can be made according to client demand and applied to all leather sectors (shoes, leather goods, garments, furnishing, etc) as the work is irrespective of the thickness of leather.
The three day fair offers direct contact with the main suppliers for the fashion, design, furnishing and car equipment industries. All regular exhibitors have confirmed their participation.
