Bertin Group to invest R$ 30 million to increase leather production by 57%

The Bertin Group, beef and leather producer, will invest R$86.3 million (approximately $30 million) to expand its existing industrial units and build new ones intended for the production of crust leather. 

 

The investment will be made in the states of Sao Paulo, Goias and Mato Grosso do Sul. According to BNDES - National Bank for Economic and Social Development - that is providing over 50% of the funds, Bertin intends to increase its production of crust by 57%, from its current 4.2 million square metres to 6.6 million sq. metres per year. Four hundred new jobs should be generated in the process.

 

The Bertin Group operates in seven different sectors: cattle husbandry, meat packing, leathermaking including finished leather, animal food, PPG, personal protection and hygiene, and industrial hygiene.
