A Swedish shoe and design company, Vagabond International Akiebolag, has recently been registered in the Wenzhou Economic Development Zone, becoming the first foreign inhabitant of the zone, according to the China Leather Industry Association.

It is predicted that the company will introduce advanced European shoe-making technology to Wenzhou city. This is expected to promote the local industry and bring a reform in shoe-making in an area where many local shoe enterprises still adopt the traditional design methods.

The company, famous for its designers, was founded in 1960 and today has a strong presence in many countries.
