Quanzhou shoe exports exceed $800 million in first half ’04

Between January and June of this year, Quanzhou exported 43,572 pairs of shoes worth up to $839 million, according to the Quanzhou Inspection & Quarantine Bureau. Compared with last year, exports increased 21.3%  by volume and their value by 19.4%.


There are four major shoe production provinces in China: Zhejiang, Guangdong, Sichuan and Fujian. Quanzhou district is the largest shoe production area in Fujian. Its site in Jinjiang is the most famous production site of sports shoes exported to the US and Europe.
