Green theme for new leather chemicals producer HQ
Chemicals producer MK Química do Brasil, of Portão/RS, recently inaugurated its new 1,446.53 sq. mt administrative headquarters. Built on a 22 hectare area, adjacent to its Rio Grande do Sul factory, the new premises feature the latest architectural technology and state-of-the-art IT systems. It also has a 100-seat theatre for training courses and events.
Constructed in an exuberant natural environment at a cost of $700,000, the building has been designed so it can grow with the company. The employee car park provides space for 70% more building space if it is required .
Garden designer Tony Baches, a specialist at integrating nature with architectural components, set up a project that took advantage of the available natural resources such as creeks, lakes and native vegetation. Flowers were added to the existing plants to give a touch of colour to the huge lawn, and piers were built as special features.
