Chinese shoemakers return from Italy with orders
A total of 23 shoe & tannery enterprises from Wenzhou have returned home from the 62nd Italy Garda shoe exhibition in Italy with many orders, the Chinese city’s Shoe & Leather industry association has advised. And for the first time in its 32 year history, the association had its own pavilion at a show.
A total of 8,500 international merchants from 98 countries attended the fair, which caters for the low-to-medium end of the Italian domestic market and showcases both summer and winter styles. It is estimated that half of the €2.5 billion worth of shoes sold in Italy last year came from China.
