The China Leather Industry Association, (CLIA) is predicting a bigger turnout than ever for the next shows in the All China Leather Expo (ACLE)/China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) series, which will be held concurrently in Shanghai, September 1-3.

In a report carried on the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) website, the organisation’s secretary general Mr. Su Chao Ying said he expected the show to exceed last year’s figure of 12,000 visitors. The CIFF exhibition area had also been expanded to allow for the bigger anticipated intake of trading companies, he said. More sports and travel shoe-making enterprises and producers from mid and west China were expected, breaking the eastern producers’ monopoly on floorspace.

In terms of the leather show, a new pavilion had been added for fur and related products, Mr Su continued, with prominence being given to local manufacturers from Wenzhou, Chongqing, Xiji, Haining and Jinjiang. The show will also be the first to feature a special corridor to display products with “Genuine Leather Mark”, plus an area for ‘ecological leather.’
