China exports more in April

According to Chinese Customs, the country exported leather goods worth $1.373 billion in April 2004, a slight increase on the year before. Imports of the same totalled $484.3 million. Big increases were seen in the export of fur garments (up 86.2%).

 

However, hide exports were down by a massive 98% with other big falls being seen the export of leather gloves (-28.4%) and leather garments (-11.2%). Imports of leather gloves swelled 290.4% while imports of hides were up 17.2%.  Leather garment imports were down 63.1%.
