International aid for Bengal leather industry
The organisation behind the Meet in Africa series, International Trade Centre (ITC), is reported to be putting together a large aid package, aimed at enhancing the quality of the Bengal leather industry’s output. The package is known to include a Footwear Development and Design Institute and in preparation for this, two ITC superintendents are currently carrying out local market research.
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the International Trade Centre (ITC) is the technical cooperation agency of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the World Trade Organization (WTO) for operational, enterprise-oriented aspects of trade development.
