Chinese shoe brand valued at $205 million
The Chinese ‘Aokang‘ footwear brand has been valued at 1.69 billion yuan ($205 million), the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA) has reported.
Undertaken by the Beijing Famous Brand Asset Evaluation Co., Ltd, the development was made known at a meeting of the Genuine Leather Mark, held May 17 in Bishan Hotel, Chongqing . At the same meeting, president of Aokang group, Mr. Wang zheng Tao, was presented with a plaque commemorating the occasion by general manager of Beijing Famous Brand Asset Evaluation Co., Ltd, Mr. Wang Jing. Sharing in the celebrations were representatives of the China Famous Brand Promotion Committee, National Shoe Quality Inspection Centre and China Brands Association.
Mr. Wang zhen Tao noted it had taken ten years for Aokang to become a recognised brand in the country and that its location in Wenzhou city had played a part in this. Mr. Xu Yong, director of CLIA, praised Aokang, saying the development mirrored the growing recognition of the Genuine Leather Mark, initiated by CLIA.
