Compared with the previous month, Pakistan’s exports of finished leather were down by a massive 29.3% in March ’04, to $12 million, according to the Federal Bureau of Statistics. Exports of leather goods were down 23.2% to $20.7 million while footwear exports dropped 45% to $4 million. On a nine-monthly basis commencing July 2003, however, the country’s total leather and leathergoods exports were up 3.2% compared with the year before.
