PPR completes Gucci takeover

French retail giant, Pinault-Printemps-Redoute (PPR), has completed the takeover of the leading luxury goods company, Gucci Group NV, in which it already held a 67.6% majority share.
PPR now holds a 99.3% stake in the Netherlands-based group, whose brands include Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi, Bottega Veneta and Alexander McQueen.
The buyout completes a five-year process during which PPR has steadily increased its shares in Gucci.
