May schedule for ‘Infinity AE’ from Gerber Technology
Gerber Technology, a division of Gerber Scientific, Inc, has announced that its new ‘Infinity AE’ state-of-the-art inkjet plotter is scheduled to roll off the assembly lines this May.
It is the first-ever product to be manufactured by the company in China. It was designed and engineered in Connecticut, US and has been built through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Gerber Scientific (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
James Arthurs, president of Gerber Technology, said: “By sourcing and manufacturing in China, we can also pass along savings in freight, shipping costs, and import duties directly to our customers. With this announcement we reaffirm our commitment to China, the world’s largest apparel manufacturer, as it grows to 2010 and beyond.”
Gerber said it plans to launch additional locally-manufactured models for the Chinese market later this year and also open two new offices in the coming months.
