Strong start to the year for LVMH

French luxury goods group LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), has reported a strong start for 2004, with first quarter organic sales growth of 10% (€2.8 billion).

 

Revenues for the fashion and leather goods division rose 7% to €1.07 billion with the Louis Vuitton brand continuing to achieve double-digit organic sales growth. LVMH said the brand’s new collection of Damier Géant luggage and the latest range from Marc Jacobs were a hit with consumers.

 

The company said it will continue to pursue growth in 2004 by taking advantage of the strength of its brands, new product launches and the penetration of new markets.
