Taryn Rose sues designer
Taryn Rose International of Los Angeles, CA, has filed suits against its former designer and several other business associates claiming they developed a competing line of footwear in violation of their contract.
The suit, filed in the Superior Court of California, charges that Thierry Rabotin used his reputation as a designer for Taryn Rose to sell his new line of shoes to Taryn Rose customers. As a result, Taryn Rose severed its relationship with Rabotin and began legal action. Rabotin has been selling his own line outside the U.S., but introduced some 100 styles of his line at the recent Shoe Show in Las Vegas. The line included styles from sandals to mules to boots under the Thierry Rabotin label and operates out of Milan, Italy.
In addition to monetary damage, Taryn Rose is seeking an injunction to prevent Rabotin and his associates from continuing to develop, sell and distribute its line.
