Forrest E. Hitsman
Forrest E. Hitsman, 70, a former president and CEO of the U.S. Shoe Corp., died February 25. Hitsman began his 53 year career as a shoe salesman for the Wohl Shoe Co., eventually rising to vice president of buying and styling.
He opened his first store in 1975, expanding to a 22-store chain. He also designed the Timothy Hitsman Footwear and Patsy & Co., (named after his wife) collections, which were made in Spain, where he has resided for the past 10 years.
He was honored as the National Shoe Retailer of the Year in 1977, a Lifetime Pacesetter Member of the Two Ten International Footwear Foundation, and was an NSRA Education Partner. He is survived by his wife, six children and 16 grandchildren.
