Local reports in China have stated that some of the footwear and apparel seized in Moscow in February had originated from factories in Jinjiang, Fujian province.

The Russian government said it confiscated the goods as there were no legal shipping documents to support them.

The Chinese government, meanwhile, has advised companies to standardise their business procedures, in particular when trading with Russia.
