Chinese glued footwear survey generates 80.5% pass rate

A survey conducted by the China National Quality Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has found that 80.5% of glued leather footwear inspected reached its target standard.

 

The survey was carried out in production facilities in the Zhejiang, Fujian, Guangdong, Chongqing and Sichuan provinces. 41 products were inspected, of which 33 passed the examination. Larger companies generated an average pass rate of 91.7% while medium and smaller sized organisations scored 85.7% and 66.7% respectively.

 

According to statistics from the China Leather Industry Association, the country currently produces around 5 billion pairs of glued leather footwear, 50% of which is exported.
