Bayer makes technical dyestuffs appointment

Bayer Chemicals has appointed Gustavo Adrián Defeo F.S.L.T.C. as its new global technical manager for leather dyestuffs

Based at the company's recently-opened dyestuffs laboratory in Santa Croce sull’Arno, Italy, Mr Defeo will be responsible for the ongoing expansion of the company’s dyestuffs range and the compilation of its leather colour fashion trends. He will also organise technical meetings to update the company’s worldwide technical staff on new dyestuffs and international regulations, as well as developments in colour science as they relate to the leather industry.

 

Mr Defeo has a strong background in colour physics in relation to the leather industry. In  1993, for instance, he was the recipient of the Donald Burton memorial prize for his psychophysical research into  leather whiteness.  He is a Fellow of the Society of Leather Technologists and Chemists (S.L.T.C.), past president of the Colour Group of Argentina (G.A.C.), past Hon. Secretary of the Leather Chemists and Technicians Society of Argentina (A.A.Q.T.I.C.) and is currently a member of the Directive Committee of the International Union of Leather Technologists and Chemists Societies (I.U.L.T.C.S.)
