If a new Polish law is authorised, childrens footwear will soon attract Value Added Tax at the full 22% rate, as opposed to the  7% rate that currently applies.  The increase was given the green light by the country’s Sejm (Lower Chamber) and is now being discussed in Polish Senate. Opposition parties have been highly critical of the proposed increase.
