The organisers of the footwear and leather goods show, Sapica, are preparing for the 50th edition and 30th year of the event, to be held in Leon, Mexico, May 15-18 2004.

The exhibition will preview collections for autumn/winter 2004/05 and has been described by Sapica’s public accountant and president, Francisco Aguirre, as an important window for Mexico’s leather and footwear supply chain.

The 48th edition of the show, held May 17-20 2003, attracted a total of 10,370 visitors. 98% of exhibitors said they signed contracts during the fair, generating a total sale of 16 million pairs of shoes.

Sales were made for over 14.8 million pairs during the October 18-21 2003 edition and again 98% of exhibitors said they closed the show with deals.
