Four designers to replace Ford at Gucci

11/03/2004

The Italian luxury goods house, Gucci Group NV, has today confirmed it has chosen four of its little known in-house designers to replace Tom Ford, who bowed out at the weekend.

Gucci has appointed Alessandra Facchinetti as creative director of Gucci women’s fashion, John Ray as creative director for Gucci men’s fashion and Frida Giannini as creative director of accessories. Ford’s second in command, Stefano Pilati, will take over Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche.

The designer made his exit on Sunday with a glamorous show for the YSL brand.
