New Nevada factory for Quality Corrections
Quality Corrections, with headquarters in
The new facility has some 40,000 square feet of space and was designed to be extremely flexible to handle an extensive range of products as well as tasks. The objective of the company is to perform quality audits and inspections, as well as repairs and reworks for footwear, leathergoods and apparel producers.
The company has a variety of sewing machines to perform a range of tasks from sewing buckles, outsoles, hardware replacements; has four spray booths to handle necessary colour changes and repairs; and a number of inspection tables for measuring garments to assure correct sizes.
Additionally, the company is fully capable of changing labels on both footwear and garments where the wrong label has been sewn in in the first place. To properly assess lots of footwear that may not have failed quality audits at the port of entry or in the receiving warehouse, Quality Corrections asks for a dozen pairs of the footwear. These may be incorrect because of mould, physical damage, wrong colour or wrong label, but whatever the nature of the problem the company’s technicians are fully capable of assessing the necessary corrective action and pricing the job accordingly. Alternatively, they will recommend destruction if the products are deemed to be beyond economic repair.
On garments, backpacks and similar products, the company will measure the product to assure correct size markings (i.e. that a size 10 really is a size 10 and not an 8 or 12!). It will remove and replace incorrect product care labels and has comprehensive dry cleaning and laundering capabilities.
Because none of the tables or machines is bolted to the floor, the company can move them around as needed, making the work area very flexible. Randy Burk is the general operations manager of the new facility, while Doug Easly is the new market development manager and sales director, spending time at both facilities.
