The county’s industrial exports increased 10.7% year-on-year to $2.17 billion. Not including diamonds, exports went up 10.2% to $1.58 billion.

The chairman of the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, Shraga Brosh, said that during 2003, a total of 370 Israeli companies became new exporters, an increase of 6% year-on-year.

Brosh added that with the implementation of appropriate export promotion policies, Israel’s export trade could increase $7 billion over the next three years, creating 100,000 new jobs.
