India’s largest consumer goods maker, Hindustan Lever (HLL), has announced it is looking for a buyer for its leather business.

Revenues for the division, which became a subsidiary in April 2002 and has manufacturing units in Mettupalayam, Pondicherry and Chennai, currently stand at around Rs150 million ($3.3 million) per year. According to HLL, the loss of key European customers has placed the division under pressure.

The company is also looking for a buyer for its starch business.
