Pakistan leather exports edge up 3%

Pakistan's leather sector exports were up nearly 3% during the period July ’03-January ’04 to $439 million, the country’s Federal Bureau of Statistics has advised.

 

Of the total, finished leather exports climbed 0.18% to $133.5 million while exports of leather goods (including garments and gloves) rose 4.5% to $257.9 million. The country’s exports of footwear were up 2.4% to $47.4 million.

 

In January' 04, exports of finished leather were down 24% to $16.5 million while leather manufacturing exports increased 18.64% to 33.8 million.
