Reflecting the renewed interest in them, gloves will be taking centre stage at the next Le Cuir à Paris, (April 15-16 2003), organiser SIC group says.

At the show, the projects of nine student designers from the French Fashion Institute’s Design course will be shown as part of a special display, co-sponsored by the French Leather Gloves Federation and glovemakers Agnelle, Ganterie de Saint Junien, Georges Morand, Gankos, Poujade and the Interprofessional Committee of Leather Industries (France).

There will be two other displays besides, the first being ‘New Prospects for Materials’ by the renowned fashion training centre, Atelier Chardon Savard.  According to SIC Group, the main aim of the display will be to explore new uses for leather as a material, with covering, discovering and transforming leather being the main themes through which students will express their creativity.  Sponsored  by the Belgian training institute, Atelier de La Cambre-Mode,  the third exhibition will present a selection of figures clothed in leather and fur.
