Helsinki fashion scene gears up for its international fashion fair

19/01/2004

Finland’s leading fashion exhibition, The Helsinki International Fashion Fair, will open its doors at the end of the week, previewing trends for autumn/winter 2004/2005.

The show will be open to members of the public on Saturday January 24 and for the following two days will be open to the trade.

The event’s ‘Trend Corner’ will feature a number of presentations on themes such as colour forecasting, new materials, the outlook and markets for intelligent textiles, shop dressing and customer service.

For the tenth time the ‘Golden Hanger 2004’ will be awarded to a Finnish fashion house or designer during an invitation only ceremony. The award takes into account the design and quality of the fashion house or designer’s collection, as well as whether it is in keeping with the times, suitable for export and good value for money.

The Helsinki International Fashion Fair will be held January 24-26 2004 at the Helsinki Fair Centre.
