Brazilian leather chemists formulate new committee
The Brazilian Associaiton of Leather Technicians and Chemists has elected a new president for 2004/05.
He is Carlos Guilherme Kiefer, sales manager with the leather chemicals producer, Mark/Silvateam of Estância Velha. The new Board of Directors also includes José Valdir Dilkin, Vice-president; Silvia Schmidt (Secretaria), Carlos Adolfo Becker (Treasurer), Vilmar Trevisan (Technical Council Director), Jorge Shroer (Director of Publications and Promotion) and Clóvis Strasburg, Director of Social Affairs.
The new President says he intends to strengthen the association’s relationship with its members as well as giving the association’s regional branches greater autonomy in terms of organising their own lectures, debates and symposia. He also wants to see a higher level of information exchange between tanneries, stronger links between ABQTIC’s and other leather industry bodies and increased promotion of“Revista do Couro”, the ABQTIC-edited publication that shall be 30 years old later this year.
