Saga Furs dismisses its president

18/12/2003

Saga Furs of Scandinavia has sacked its president, Ulrik Kirchheiner, citing ‘unacceptable use of company funds.’  The decision was taken on Friday (December 12) and followed an audit of the company’s finances.

In a statement, Saga asserted that business would continue as usual and that the Chairman and senior executive team would take over Kirchheiner’s responsibilities.

“The dismissal of Ulrik Kirchheiner will not change Saga's programmes with the fashion industry,” commented Ulf Enroth, Chairman.  “Saga's action plans and budgets are submitted to and approved by the Board, and naturally SAGA has the freedom to operate within the agreed framework of activities. Saga's auditors have documented that Mr Kirchheiner has been spending company funds for non-company activities and this regretfully gave the Board no other option than to relieve him of his duties. Mr. Kirchheiner has accepted the decision and we expect to cooperate with him to finalise this matter.”
