Czech leather and leathergoods output down

18/12/2003

Industrial output in the Czech Republic was 5.2% up on the year before in  October 2003 and has been rising steadily for over a year,  the Czech Statistical Office (CSU) has reported.

However, the leather industry was not among those which contributed to the growth, being grouped with coke, nuclear fuel, refined petroleum products and textiles as industries which experienced negative growth.  The biggest rises in output were seen in the transport equipment, rubber and plastic products and paper industries. Output of consumer durables was up 7.5% on the year before.
