Wenzhou footwear professionals support EU quota reduction

Footwear industry professionals in Wenzhou, China have warmly received European Union (EU) plans to cancel quotas on a number of footwear products.

 

The professionals say they hope the legislation, which is effective January 1 2005, will give them the opportunity to increase their market share in Europe.

 

China-made shoes currently account for 80% of the US market while coverage in Europe is 30%.
