Theme of optimism to prevail at October APLF

18/09/2003

Optimism is to be the prevailing theme at this October’s edition of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair (APLF).

Organisers, CMP Asia, say the show already boasts an impressive line-up, featuring over 450 companies from 23 countries.

The schedule includes a group of 18 Spanish companies organised by the Spanish Footwear Industries Federation (FICE). According to the organisers, the exhibitors will present a stylish range of footwear at the forefront of fashion. For the first time in an October show, the Tokyo Japan Pavilion will unveil the latest footwear collections from the city.

The raw materials sector of the exhibition has been enlarged four-fold and features over fifty exhibitors. High quality leathers from Australia, France, Italy and South Africa will be presented, as will synthetic leathers from mainland China and Japan. The US will present process chemicals while Hong Kong and Taiwan will show components for handbags and footwear.

APLF has also organised an informative seminar programme, including ‘Brand Building in Mainland China’ to be presented by Mr Boby Chan, chairman and managing director of the Hong Kong-based retailer Moiselle. Ms Mary Yan Yan Chan of Peclers Paris StyleCentral Ltd, meanwhile, will present the fashion trend forecast seminar on ‘Fall Winter 2004-05: Colours, Material Trends and Influences’.

APLF runs October 6-8 2003 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
