Pakistan’s leather exports in decline
Exports of manufactured leather goods fell 24.48% ($53.48 million) while footwear declined 23.7% ($8.89 million).
In August alone, the country’s exports of finished leather decreased 28.34% ($11.12 million) while manufactured leather goods fell 5.4% ($27.59 million). Exports of footwear declined 1.74% ($4.49 million).
Exports of finished goods increased by 13% (or $1.7 billion) in July-August 2003, raising the total share in overall exports to 92.5%, compared with 91.66% the previous year.
