Chengdu City – China’s future ‘City of Women’s Shoes’?

The director of the China Leather Industry Association (CLIA), Mr Xu Yong, has called for Chengdu City to be made China’s ‘City of Women’s Shoes’.

 

The title would give the city the opportunity to promote its ladies footwear on an international basis. Currently Chengdu is China’s third largest manufacturer of women’s footwear.

 

The China Shoe Industrial Park is currently being constructed in China’s Wuhou district at a total cost of $242 million. On completion it will be the largest footwear production zone in western China.
