Paris gears up for a week of leather fashion

11/09/2003

Leather industry professionals looking for next year’s trends should head to Paris next week to participate in the city’s biggest international leather fair, Le Cuir à Paris.

With just six days to go, the show’s organisers have promised that visitors will be treated to ‘quality, creativity and fashion’.

According to the SIC Group, the exhibition will unveil the latest leather garments and materials, fur, textiles, synthetics and components for autumn/winter 2004/2005.

Participants from Argentina, India, Norway and Uruguay will be at the fair for the first time. Representatives from Italy, France and Spain will also once again be present.

The event’s flagship, the ‘Trends Gallery’ will be a visionary selection of leather fashion for autumn/winter 2004/2005, featuring four areas: ‘Blackout’, ‘Edition Remix’, ‘Waterproof’ and ‘Jet-Set’. For the first time, the gallery will include an area dedicated exclusively to men, entitled ‘Special Man’. The fashions will be divided into ‘Road Movie’, ‘New Wave’ and ‘Game Boy’.

Le Cuir à Paris will open its doors at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, September 17-19 2003.

During the same week, the fashion and trimming supplies trade fair, Mod’Amont, will provide a perspective on accessories and components for autumn/winter 2004/2005.

Leather professionals will find a section devoted to leather and fur in the show’s trends area, while the fashion information area will focus on supplies and trimmings for the footwear and leather goods markets.

Mod’Amont will be held in Hall 3 of the Paris-Nord Villepinte Exhibition Centre near Charles de Gaulles airport, September 17-20 2003.
