SATRA talks restricted substances in Far East
SATRA chemist John Hubbard will explain the common restricted substances, such as: Chrome VI, Pentachlorophenol (PCP), Azo dyestuffs (aromatic amines), Formaldehyde, Di Octyl Phthalates (DOPs), Protein in Latex, Organotins. Discussions will also focus on the transition metals of Antimony, Arsenic, Lead, Cadmium, Selenium, Barium, Chromium and Mercury.
Some of these substances can cause harm when ingested, inhaled or when in contact with the skin and as a result are restricted in their use. Others cause long-term harm to the environment. Accordingly, the emphasis will be on confirming the absence of these substances from manufactured products.
