Cognis Process Chemicals suffers 15.5% drop in sales

Cognis Group’s Process Chemicals division, which includes leather chemicals, has suffered a 15.5% decline in sales to Eur221.5 million for the first half of 2003.

 

The German company cited the stagnating textile industry and weak demands in the plastics sector. The division’s organic result fell 7.2% from January to June.

 

For the first six months of the year, the Group achieved external sales of around Eur1.5 billion, organic growth increased 0.2% to Eur3.4 million. However sales declined 8.5%.
