14/08/2003

BASF Colorants and Chemicals (BACC) in Shanghai, China has announced it is to increase its production capacity for synthetic tanning and dispersing agents from 4,000 to 14,000 tons per year.

The chemicals company says work has already begun on installing a new production line and a spray-drying tower used to manufacture products in powdered form. The expansion is expected to be completed at the end of 2003 and will create around 20 new jobs.

BASF says the extended capacity is intended to satisfy increasing demand in the growing market and will safeguard the long-term continuity of supplies to customers in Asia.
