Leather chemicals producer strives for greater realism

The German chemicals giant Bayer has reported that the upgrade of it leather pilot plant in Leverkusen in progressing well and that all works are on target for completion in the final quarter of 2003. The company is spending Eur400,000 on renovating, modernising and expanding the facility.

 

According to Dr. Bernhard Wehling, head of Bayer's Leather Business Unit, a key aim is enhancing the realism of the facility’s automotive leather testing operations. The new investment includes a modern spraying machine incorporating a high-performance dryer, a toggle dryer with an expanding frame, a state-of-the-art embossing machine and a buffing line with a dust removal machine.
