It is expected that the French shoe maker, Chaussures Labelle, will axe up to two thirds of its 120-strong workforce when it is taken over by new owners.

The Normandy-based firm has attracted interest from the Portuguese footwear company, Aerosoles, and another unnamed local company. The firm behind the acquisition will be announced later this month.
