New trading centre opens in Shenzhen City, China

The China Aviation Technology Import and Export Corporation has opened a trading centre in Shenzhen City designed to promote the city’s links with Russia.

 

The Shenzhen City Leather Industry Association has applauded the news saying that it will greatly benefit the area’s leather industry. Secretary-General, Mr Wu Zhong Hua said he hopes to make Shenzhen’s leather products more popular across Eastern Europe, particularly in Russia and Yugoslavia. There are currently 1,000 leather enterprises located in Shenzhen City and around 200,000 people working in the industry.

 

According to the Russian Customs department, the country’s imports of footwear from China increased 82.6% to 4.7 million pairs during January-April, 2003. The value in volume terms increased 115% to $58.75 million, compared with the year earlier.
