The National Association of Italian Manufacturers of Footwear, Leathergoods and Tannery Machines (Assomac) has signed an agreement with the Indian Council for Leather Export (CLE).

The agreement sees Assomac members providing technical assistance to Indian footwear, leather goods and leather goods producers. This move follows an Assomac study on the likely benefits of relocating Calcutta’s tanners to the new Leather Industrial Park.
