Spanish leathermakers elect Colomer CEO as president
The Spanish Confederation of Tanners (CEC-Fecur) has elected Mr. Jaime Alvira as president. The position also entails presidency of the Leather Industry Association of Spain for Foreign Trade, ACEXPIEL.
Replacing Mr. Jacinto Codina, Mr Alvira was unanimously elected to the post at the recent Annual General Meeting of the Assocication in Salamanca. The CEO of Colomer Group (Barcelona), he is a member of CEC-Fecur’s Committee and COTANCE (European Confederation of Tanners). He was also recently named president of the Unió d’Adobadors de Catalunya (Catalonia Union of tanners).
During his inaugural speech, Mr. Alvira expressed his wish to encourage greater cooperation with organisations such as AAICA (Catalonia) and INESCOP (Valencia). At the same time, he underlined the need for the European industry to produce a white paper on its development for the next ten years.
During the same Assembly, attendees commemorated the 25th Anniversary of CEC, which recently changed its name to CEC-Fecur. The Committee was presented with a commemorative production of two documents: one describing the development of the sector since the creation of the association and the other a description of the social aspects of the association’s activities.
